January BINGO Contest for Direct Sales TeamsThroughout my years as a direct selling leader and Director of Consultant Development, before I began speaking on social media independently, I had a lot of fun coming up with incentives/contests for my own team or organization as well as for the company. A BINGO contest was one of the most popular and January is a great time to run one. Here is how I did it, as an example, but you could change out the tasks for whatever behavior you want to encourage.

The main idea is to have everyone doing something from each aspect of their business.  This way, those who are most comfortable selling will need to experience a sponsoring activity, or those who shy away from making phone calls will need to do some.  January is a great time to hold a BINGO as it moves them into action right away after the busy holidays, so there’s no time to slow down.

For our prizes we would give something they could not get any other way, such as a logo shirt. This created a powerful incentive to participate!  After each accomplishment have them post in your company/team Facebook group reporting what they did so others will be encouraged. As someone “wins BINGO” be sure to announce it in the group as well! Note that much of the reporting is on the “honor system” as the consultants self-report that they have completed each task. I asked for details to avoid any cheating!

This is a very simple version you might want to change and make “cute” before sending out, as well as adjust the tasks for what would be best for your company or team. How would you tweak this for your company or team? Leave a comment below!

To be a winner this month, you must complete at least one thing in each category below. All those who complete BINGO with at least one thing completed in each category wins a new ________ (new product or other prize)! All BINGO winners will be put into a drawing for a _________(even better prize)! Email abc@abccompany.com when you have accomplished BINGO and include details or evidence for each task you completed.

Arrange 2 home parties to be held within 4 weeks. Turn in one $500+ order. Sign up 1 new Consultant. Send a newsletter with training tips to your team. Make Big MAC (morning after) calls to all party or event leads.
Sign up for 1 sales event to be held in the next 6 months. Turn in two $300+ orders or parties. Hold an Intro/ Starter party for a new Consultant. Post at least 5 ideas, helping emails, or handouts to the team group. Cold call 5 people a day 3 days a week this month.
Sell at a conference or fair this month. Beat your monthly sales average by 10%. Help existing personal new Consultants sell $500+. Attend and actively participate in 4 team meetings/calls/chats  this month. Call hostess or recruit leads to finalize bookings/ recruits.
Hold 4 appointments with school or childcare professionals. Sell at least $100 each week this month. Hold an Opportunity Night party/ meeting. Hold a team meeting for just your downline, live or online. Contact each of your direct downline to check in and support them.
Book 3 parties from a home party. Gather $500 in non-party orders throughout the month. Hold a New Start training meeting. Partner with a buddy and check in/ support each other once a day this month. Contact your upline once a week to report how things are going or to get help.

    Tis is WONDERFUL! Thank you for posting it! My upline has become MASSIVE, and rather than going the usual route for MY downline, I wanted to get creative to create a small, yet strong team, and this is an amazing motivating tool!
    I am actually going to challenge MYSELF to play bingo, and build myself even more.
